In this short tutorial, I will show you how to refresh the 'missing permission' on your Social account.

First things first, the missing permissions can occur when you change your password on your Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter account and automatically you lose access to all third-party platforms such as EmbedSocial.

In order for us to keep your widgets updated and also to be able to create new widgets from the posts from your social accounts, we always need active permissions.

If missing permission is indicated on your EmbedSocial account, you can easily fix this by following the steps below.

1. Please make sure to go to the 'Social Accounts' page:

2. As you can see on the screenshot above, there is an indication that there are missing permissions, so to refresh them, just click the highlighted 'Refresh token' in this case the button next to your Facebook.

3. You will be redirected to Facebook, to re-give the permissions and re-activate your account again.

You will need to take the same steps if you would like to refresh the missing permissions on your Twitter account.

  1. First, you will need to go to your social 'Social Accounts' page

  2. You will need to click on the 'Refresh token' next to your Twitter account.

3. Then you will be redirected to Twitter, to re-give the permissions and re-activate your account again.

Please note that you will need to be logged in with the same Facebook/Twitter account that is missing the permissions in order to refresh them.

Once you refresh the permissions, the accounts should state 'Connected' and the posts will continue to auto-update.
